Tip #1 — Easy Fall Decorating ColorsTake clues from nature and the things that are happening around you.  The leaves are changing, wood is being cut for fireplaces, chestnuts are being roasted.  When the cold weather begins to spread across the plains and into your backyards, an interior decorating scheme featuring rich oranges, deep reds and earthy browns can create that cozy and colorful sanctuary that you want. The most practical way to change colors is to simply darken some of the colors in the existing interior decorating schemes. Switch out pillows, slipcover chairs with darker colors, add a throw on the sofa and change out bulbs for softer lighting. Tip #2 — Heavier Fall TextilesFabrics like velvet, thick wool, corduroy, and even fur all add the sense of warmth and comfort that we’re craving when we want that fall feeling around us. Adding touches of those fabrics to a home is an easy way to decorate for the new season. Pillows, curtains, and rugs are all easy textile switches that will transform the feel of a room.Tip #3 — Cozier Fall Home LightingBelieve it or not, simply adding a lamp with a interesting lampshade can make all the difference.  Add two or three lighting features in a room and not only will your space look different, it will be different simply because the light thrown from the lampshades that you found in rich fall colors and graphics will create a completely different feeling.  Utilizing floor and table lamps rather than strong over head halogen will immediately give you a romantic and cozier space to entertain, read or simply watch TV.
