In Vitro Orchid
With a name like In Vitro Orchid, what is not to love. Notoriously hard plants to keep alive, no less get to rebloom, www.uncommongoods.com will send you the In Vitro Orchid, a baby orchid or what looks to be an orchid cutting with roots in a 5” sterilized test tube that has been enriched with a nutrient rich gel that doesn’t need water or maintenance. The look is minimalist and is a certain conversation starter. Once the orchid outgrows the test tube, simply transfer the plant to potting soil (and use orchid mix to help it along.) I’ve found that if you give an orchid a deep hearty drink at least once a week and keep it in indirect natural light, your blooms should be bright and beautiful.
Atypyk
I ran across the website www.atypyk.com based out of France. I love their hysterical takes on ordinary everyday products. I thought that the Time Is Money clock that costs 86 Euro is absolutely brilliantly conceived and stunningly beautiful in its simplicity. A clock and piggy bank all in one. Its called, Save Time, of course…

Uncommon Goods
I don’t usually write about the same website in the same posting, but I thought the designers behind the High Heel Cake Server at www.uncommongoods.com was different enough to warrant a second high five. Easy to grab and hold onto while cutting a piece of your favorite pie, what is better than everyone laughing a long with you and all agreeing that it is pretty nifty looking on top of being extremely practical.
